Why Iโm bullish on Kyle Kuzma playing well in the bubble despite an up-and-down season. Includes:
– Injury plagued offseason
– Wing defensive improvement
– Stats with LeBron on the floor#Lakeshow https://t.co/zo3Zr6q4g6— Josh ๐ (@josh2saint) July 21, 2020

Excellent post by Josh Toussaint. Good argument why we should expect Kuzma to excel in the playoffs. Kyle’s one of my two Lakers’ wild cards along with Dion Waiters.

FROM THE ABOVE ARTICLE:
I donโt think it is fair to expect a vast improvement from him given the circumstances. But, I do think it is fair to expect some improvement. In the right situations and role, Kuz has done well this season. Playing well off LeBron helps considering he thrives off playing with a good ball-handler. Moreover, his serviceable defense on wings will give him key playoff minutes.
Will he shoot 3s like his rookie season? I doubt it, but if he can hit about 33% from deep, that is respectable enough to create some space when off the ball and I think that is realistic. That would make him a legitimate 3-D rotation player.
Kuzma does not have to be elite for the Lakers to win a championship or do his job. He just needs to be serviceable-to-good. Giving him a few months to heal up and training camp to get a better sense of his role on the team, theoretically, should make him a better player. However, only time will tell, but I remain optimistic on Bubble Kuz being a valuable contributor on a title contender.
