I continue to be impressed with Frank Vogel’s playoff adjustments. He may have been stubborn and reluctant to make changes during the regular season, which frankly I think is smart in terms of building confidence and team chemistry but he has recognized that the playoffs are a different situation.
The moves Frank made to replace McGee with Morris against the Rockets and then to do it again with Howard against the Nuggets were excellent. Will be interesting to see if he stays with Dwight like he did with Morris after starting him in the second half. I’m betting he will.
Frankly, I like that Morris and Howard prove themselves by starting in the second halves before getting a shot to start the game itself. Excellent way to breach those tough personnel decisions. Hard for players to argue with the call when the move already proved to work in the second half. That’s great coaching.
I love Frank, but I have to say the roster moves are both fundamentally sound and easy to justify with LBJ on board. He’d volunteer to sit if he thought it would help the team ( I know, a ridiculous notion). Vogel and Lebron don’t have any pouters to worry about.
