Aloha
In the spirit of Tom’s trade hunting, I’ve come up a plan to land KD! Kidding but looking at team needs I have come up with a possibility. The Cav’s biggest need is shooting at the 2 and perhaps another secondary ball handler as well. We know that they have their sights set on Gordon and LeVert but so do other teams. If they fail to land a big name how about Ellington and THT for Cedi Osman. I would even throw in a 2nd rounder. Ellington gives them some 3 point shooting and THT gives another ball handler with play making ability. Gives us a 6’ 7” small forward who can defend a little and score a little as well. Since the Cav’s went with their jumbo line up, he’s been coming off the bench. He could actually start for the Lakers.

They would probably have send maybe Ed Davis to as well. He’s only played in 15 games and only about 8 minutes a game. We could cut him or keeps him. He probably would be more useful than DJ.

Aloha, MIchael,
The Lakers will find takers for THT and probably Nunn and the pick. It makes zero sense to keep him as he fills no needed role on the team and would be a DNP if and when Nunn comes back.
They may not get what I would hope for but there are many deals out there where the Lakers would be a better team as a result. Lakers are desperate so it will be interesting to see what they do.
I think Osman is a perfect example of player who would make sense for the Lakers but I still see those as backup moves that you consider once your higher priorities don’t come through.
Right now, it looks like anything big or small that’s going to happen is likely to happen right before the deadline. Unlike other trade deadlines, there doesn’t seem to be any one player or trade that’s the domino to open the flood gates.
I do think there will be lots of action, however, because they’re are so many more buyers.
