There are likely several unpublicized mutual agreements between Rich and Tommy on how to take advantage by expanding the trade to other teams. That can benefit the Wizards just as much as the Lakers.

Not being able to finalize untl Aug 6 is a big advantage in a way as it opens the door for other team to try and join and even modify the trade, so long as the Lakers and Wizard agree to the changes. This could end up being a 4 or 5 team trade. Teams looking to get Kuzma could even offer something better for the Wizards. I assume the pick tonight will be made for the Wizards but players drafted by other teams could be included as part of the mega trade or likely pair of trades due to timing.

There may be legal or league restraints I don’t know about but I thini everything is open except for the picks, which are now players. Let’s see how imaginative and savvy Rob can do and which other teams want to play. Russ is a Lakers only player in this trade but KCP, Kuzma, and Harrell could easily be available for the right price to a third team.
