Jesus it’s going to be a long summer…
His only qualification seems to be that LeBron enjoys sitting down, drinking wine, & talking basketball with him. Not sure if that’s the right way to pick a coach.
And please don’t compare him to Kerr or Spo. Kerr had experience as a GM and Prez of an entire organization beforehand. Spo was in the Heat organization for 13 friggin years before taking the helm. JJ’s resume is…a podcast and appearances on First Take???
You are right, @MongoSlade. Plus, he needs to atone for not voting for AD in the DPOY selection.
That was just an oversignt by J.J. He talked about AD with LeBron on the podcasts. Lakers have already said Davis and not James will be priority with new coach.
Redick is exactly the kind of coach the Lakers will need once LeBron leaves and the team needs to build around AD. We need continuity with head coach going forward.
Thanks for responding, Tom.
LMAO, Jamie.
I guess you don’t see the elite basketball mind and star power that led him to rising to the top of ESPN so quickly and make him a potential perfect long-term coach for the Lakers.
The Lakers need a long term solution at coach. It’s as important to have coaching continuity as it is to have player continuity. What a team needs in a head coach is also dramatically different than what they need for an assistant coach.
J.J. Redick has the potential to become the Lakers next great coach. The Lakers front office obviously sees something special or they would not have him as their current favorite.
It’s obvious the Lakers are hoping J.J. will wow them during the interview. All of the other interviews are just do diligence, dotting their i’s and crossing their t’s. J.J. is going to next Pat Riley.
I am on board the J.J. train. Will he bring back Phil Handy?
