The mid-range shot may have become a lost art over the years…
But players like Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Kawhi Leonard and DeMar DeRozan are sure keeping it alive, much to Jamal Crawford's liking 💯 pic.twitter.com/oqxcUmqQO4

This is what always happens in the playoffs. The physicality ramps up, the legs are tired from the grind of the season and the three’s don’t fall. Could be pressure on a guy who canned a high % in the regular season but now the lights are a little brighter, stakes a lot higher and that shot drops off a cliff.
Just wait until analytics tells us that, in boxing, you should only throw haymakers at 33 degree angle in order to maximize KO potential. Some of this is getting to levels of absurdity only media juggernauts can appreciate. The great ones understand the value of short term gains in the face of waiting for the wonder shot to land/fall through the net.

Yup. Watching this Clipps/Suns series with my nephew (the family disappointment) and talking about how much the Clipps are missing Kawhi’s mid-range game when the 3’s aren’t dropping. They switched up last night and pounded the paint for 58 points tho..

“nephew (the family disappointment) ” lol, there’s hope man!
Have to admit I’m pulling for both Zubac and Boogie, I have a soft spot for those two big lugs and you won’t see me kicking dirt if they win a ring or at least make the NBA Finals. Gotta admit, the Clips showing a lot more grit than last season. Ty Lue making his coin, man.

It’s really the long two that is the shot teams shouldn’t take, 17 feet to the 3-point line. Solid 10-15 foor midrange shots are gold for players like Chris Paul, Paul George, LeBron James, Kawhi Leonard as they were for Kobe Bryant and lots of stars from earlier eras.

Antwan Jamison won’t make the HOF and he scored over 20,000 pts mostly from mid-range. Same with Tom Chambers…they shouldn’t be forgotten because it’s not in vogue.
Magicman says
Funny thing is Chambers was the best in-game dunker in the 80s not Jordan…His mid-range for a PF was similar to LaMarcus Aldridge efficiency…He’s also one of the (5) Power Forwards to make over 200+ 3pt shots prior to the 1994-1995 season. He should be in the HOF but it’s a popularity contest more than a historical imprint. Sad.
