Aloha
Just sitting around wondering if we are ever going to come out with any energy. I knew the game was over somewhere early in the 2nd quarter. I nearly didn’t watch the 2nd half, but I wanted to see if we could find even a little bit of pride. We did in the 2nd half but of course there was just to much to over come.
While our 1st half defense sucked, bad offense fed some of that. LeBron took 5 shots. 4 from 3. As a matter of fact, most of the 1st quarter was chucking up 3’s. And over the course of the game our 16 turnovers led to 25 points. It’s hard to play shut down defense with that kind of sloppy offense.
If one looks at the stat lines, both LeBron and AD had decent stats lines but I don’t feel either had what could be good games for them. After beasting since his return, AD faded back into the wall paper until he came back, in the 4th. LeBron just wasn’t aggressive as he has been.
Russ didn’t play in the 4th quarter. That also coincided with our late comeback push. Enough said.
We did have 4 guys that played hard. Malik didn’t have a good night from 3 but like all good scorers he found other ways to score. Trevor looked old again but Stanley played with energy on both sides of the ball. Both THT and Austin both played good defense during that comeback attempt. Actually it was the young guys energy that fueled the 4th quarter run.
At this point even a huge trade probably would do no good. The energy, desire and urgency just isn’t there. It’s one thing to come out flat against a bad team like the Knicks, but if you can’t get up for the world champions, at home, you are in serious trouble and this season is as well.
