Where do the Rockets go from here? I think it’s obvious. There’s nothing grossly wrong about their style of play other than toning it down to include some mid-range shots when called for. The problem, as the Lakers showed them, is they just need taller skilled players who can play their style, players like LeBron James and Anthony Davis or Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
One interesting target I think Morey might pursue is Ben Simmons. He could easily take over Russell Westbrook’s attack the rim rolle and he has great size and defensive chops. Problem, of course, is Daryl doesn’t have any chips left to get him but he’s still the most innovative deal maker in the league so who knows. One thing for sure is the Rockets need better players if they want to continue to play small ball and get better.
