I’ve long coveted Myles Turner as the perfect stretch five/rim protector to pair with Anthony Davis. Pelinka should be talking to Pacers for sure.
FWIW this will be Myles 10th completed season come the summer, he is likely waiting until that time to sign an extension with the Pacers (5% raise, nothing to sneeze at). They’re in the thick of a playoff race so I doubt they send him out for the spare parts above. They have ample draft assets moving forward. They have all their first rounders for the foreseeable future and a grip of second rounders.
They don’t teardown, they just tinker…endlessly. Myles and their front office seem to gel so it’s hard to see a lowball offer like this one getting it done.
With only Thomas Bryant on the roster no way they make this trade. If the Pacers did decide to trade Turner they would want a decent starting center in return along with probably another player and picks. Considering Turner is an unrestricted free agent next year, I doubt anyone does that trade.
I tend to agree, if Richardโs fetches 3 second rounders Iโm doubtful Indy moves Myles for just a single 1st rounder. Lakers stuck at the kiddie table, againโฆ
