Excellent podcast by Pete and Darius. Lots of concern over how the Lakers starting lineup defends Dame, especially JaVale and Danny’s weaknesses. Both feel Lakers will dominate the rest of the game but need to find a way to survive the starters, which just confirms that Kuzma should start.
One thing I’m concerned about is what if the Blazers decide to go small to start the game since Collins is out? Will Vogel adjust and quickly put Kuzma in for McGee? Or will he stubbornly stay with two bigs? That’s where the series could get out of control.
This series screams for the Lakers to play AD at the five and Kuzma at the four. AD is the only Lakers big who can effectively double Dame, who will take advantage of McGee or Howard that far out.
Their prediction: Lakers in 5.
