With the news that Gasol is a Laker target now, you kind of wonder if it was the Lakers and not Dwight that changed their minds. He is signing for slightly less with the 76’ers. Gasol’s agent may have gotten back to the Lakers late. I never thought much about Gasol because I thought he would get better offers then the mid-level. But it would be great if we do land him. In the mean time it appeared that Christian Wood was going to the Rockets for the mid level. Then there was an announcement that that deal has not been finalized. Perhaps the Lakers don’t believe his ready to win now.
It was Dwight thinking a discussed deal was an offer. When he accepted, Lakers said they would have to check, which told him to sign with the 76ers. He will get more PT there anyway.
Our problem is what to do with McGee. Maybe that PJ Tucker trade for Kuzma and McGee might not be so bad? Adds defense and 3-point shooting and a small ball center.
