ESPN Sources with @DraftExpress: The New Orleans Pelicans are planning to defer the Los Angeles Lakers’ first-round pick until 2025, clearing the way for LA to select 17th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft. Pick conditions were part of the Anthony Davis trade in 2019.

One of the weakest drafts in recent memory
Yup plus makes sense to simply bet on decline of our 2 supes.
Not only is this draft projected as weak but it seems like half of the lottery teams are looking to trade their picks. #17pick will not have nowhere near the value of post-LeBron 2029 and 2031picks. Since Lakers likely not looking for 3rd star, they should use pick.
Ironically, there are 4 or 5 legitimate quality center prospects projected to be drafted 15 to 25 who could be excellent fits for the Lakers. Filipowski, Edey, Ware, and Holmes should all be avaialble when the Lakers pick at #17. I’d take Filipowski.
