Lakers three centers played 48.0 minutes. AD played entirely at the four. Zero minutes at the five. Game balls to Marc. Assists to Wes and Talen. Everybody contributed to great team win.
So I’m supposed to believe that Ben McLemore was the second best player and was substantially better than AD and KCP. And this is why I’m lukewarm on analytics sometimes.
Well, net rating and plus/minus are really a measure of the team as much as the individual. What is could say is we were able to hide or cover for Ben’s poor defense with the rest of the players on the court with him. Good measure within a team over a period of time. Single game or comparing players from different teams? Not so good obviously.
You’ll notice that Ben played at the same time as Marc and Wes, who both hit big time shots and made big time plays, which was reflected in his unusual high net rating.
