I watch snippets of most NBA games. A team shooting 45 times from deep isn’t a good game.
No one’s playing defense.
There’s a reason why only 6 teams are above .500
I’ve been watching NBA basketball for 30+ years…quality of basketball is terrible. I’d rather get 8 hours of good sleep than spend 3 hours watching a chuck fest that’s just awful.
I agree. Trust me, I have pretty much stopped watching other teams play simply because of what you just stated. It makes the game boring to see all those threes and no defense. It’s almost like a routine. I am not taking anything away from the three point plays, that’s part of the modern game. The game has become a three point competion, and the all-star game is not that far off, except last year’s.
I don’t know, Sean. Watched the end of the Mavericks and Celtics game and thought it was one of the best I’ve seen this year. Also enjoying watching Melo and the Hornets play. Of course, as Lakers fans, you’re right the games have been unwatchable. I’ve been forced to turn off the audio just to keep my blood pressure in check.
Certain guys like Luka, Steph and LBJ are fun to watch Tom, but w/o real practices, a lot of teams are still tinkering, and defense be damned. If you’re down by 30, unless you go crazy from deep, teams are throwing in the towel.
It’s been the case for some time, I’m hoping it’s just a bad year in a cycle.
I would add that to some old fans, especially the old school fans, the modern game has become too 3-point dominant. Todays game has become dominated by splashing threes and throwing down dunks because of analytics. In many ways, all the games seem to be the same. Lots of drive-and-dish for dunk or drive-and-kick for three. Their used to be a lot more variety in strategy and offense and defense. It’s a different and in some ways simpler game today than it used to be. But in a few more years, there won’t be any old schoolers around to complain.
“I’ve been forced to turn off the audio just to keep my blood pressure in check”. That’s a good one, Tom. Got me laughing hard, man.
