More confirmation that the Orlando Bubble is working. Great job by NBA and NBPA.

Basketball has obvious advantages of scale over baseball and football, giving the NBA the ability to create and manage a bubble. It may prove to be the only one that succeeds. I hope not.

The NBA advantage is really that they’re only doing the playoffs and not complete or abbreviated seasons. Much harder to do a full season in a bubble. But the NBA has shown they have their act together and deserve a lot of credit. The best professional league in many ways, including partnership between owners and players.
Going to be interesting to see what league does for next season come December. Depending on where we are with respect to Coronavirus, we may season broken into halves or thirds with bubbles or other creative solutions. I love the virtual fans on Microsoft Teams. Going to be great to see games again.

NBA and NBPU deserve a ton of credit and respect for the ways they have gone about making player/staff safety goal #1. While there are certainly some built-in advantages to how the NBA is structured (small teams, small playing area, no need for an immense amount of vertical space to allow for flight paths of thrown or hit balls, etc.) it still shows how dedicated all parties were to doing this right the first time.
I feel the same way about masks: if the biggest inconvenience I go through during the pandemic is wearing a mask to do my part to help keep my family and community safe it’s not really an inconvenience. It’s simply doing my part.

Exactly, Jamie. The anti-maskers make my blood boil.
