Just heard that the Lakers were set to give Klay a 4 year 20 mil per deal but the Warriors would not do a sign and trade with DLO. Thank you Warriors.
Dr Buss liked stars, so Jeanie likes stars. But there is a difference between having a star resume and still being a star. If we are going to trade DLO we can do better than Klay. He isn’t that guy anymore.
Klay kinda made sense if he was coming here for the full MLE, but even that stretched the logic of what we actually need right now which is to get younger and better. This will likely not happen overnight, thus it’s not a fan-friendly timeline.
Trading for Klay never made sense to me. You’re just improving the Warriors at that point. Same goes for DeRozan which means he’s basically off the board, too.
I have never been on board the Klay and Christ Paul trains. So it is okay with me that they are gone somewhere else. My worry right now is the possibility of us watching from the sidelines white the talent pool is being entirely drained by the time this free-agency dust settles. One thing keeping me hopeful is that we were not that far off from the finals this past two seasons had it not been the mismatch Denver presented us. We just need a few effective tweaks to the roster without losing much in the process.
