Minny is poorly coached. KAT only had 15 shots, by far the best player on Minny and ya don’t get him 20-25 shots a game? Morant had a bad shooting nite, but had 22 shots and was the key in the 4th Q. KAT should have been. AD for KAT! I didn’t realize that Victor Oly was gonna be a free agent. Probably will want more than his health is worth.

Some of that is KAT. He looks like a star one night, role-player the next. He needs to go full Shaq, park his rear at the top of the key and demand the rock. Like Embiid forces the issue, KAT needs to do the same.
Honestly, I have been frustrated with KAT simply because of the facts you stated, Jamie. You are absolutely right on your take.
Both these teams & head coaches are very inexperienced in playoff games…which is why we see these wild swings in quality of play and what makes the series so compelling. They’ll both be better going forward having gone through this. If I’m Minny I wouldn’t trade Towns for AD staight up. Towns is still on the upswing while AD has plateaued and could possibly be on the downside. As far as this last game, Jah played 7 more minutes and always has the ball in his hands…so it’s not really an apples-to-apples comparison. Ideally you’d like to see your Center dominate on the interior but dude hit 5 for 7 from the arc and is career 39% from there. That’s crazy….
KAT, Jokic and EMbiid should all be talked about on the same level. Ayton…maybe could get there but probably tops out at more of a Valanciunas, Adams, Vucevic level. Good, sometimes great, but not consistent or dynamic enough to be a top big man. Easy to see why Phoenix has balked at maxing him out even though they may be forced to this summer. or close to it.
If Kat had a better team, situation, around him from the start I feel like his narrative would be very different. I think everything he went through over the last couple of years has hardened him into more of a pro and his talent has always been legit. Wish he could have done that without so much loss but the journey is different for everyone. There is no certified blueprint that works for all.
If Minny would trade KAT for AD straight up Rob should fall over trying to say Yes really fast…
