    • Close. Slimmest of margins here. I just expect Great Offense to better than Great Defense.

Just a hard ask to play Excellent individual defense and team defense to win 4/7 and the Bucks have the Thoroughbreds and sandpaper to get it done.

They to fight against the NBA analytics version of the Japanese Monster Ghidorah, a literal 3 headed monster. I don’t see that being slayed.

    • I still contend adding Drummond was akin to subtraction by addition. It screwed up our center rotation, which screwed up our entire rotation and just added to the chaos and lineup turmoil caused by LeBron’s and AD’s injuries.

      • You know it’s funny because iuf he had come onto the team with James and AD healthy the way ‘Kieff did (albeit with a fraction of the expectations) this would have been a more interesting story. If he signs for Trezz money I’m down

    • I understand the desire for teams to get a big man like Joel, AD, Giannis, etc. The fact is that because they are so big it doesn’t take much to get hurt playing the way they do. Same goes for Porzingis even though he doesn’t defend or pass like an elite big.

The Cutoff for an overall decent to really good 3 pt shooter is 35-38%.

Now for “Wide open 3’s” 6+ft you better be shooting min. 70% on open 3’s.

The Lakers are shooting 22.9% on wide open 3’s.

That’s a HS or D-3 school bereft of shooting. Shouldn’t be an NBA team.

Caruso and Kuz are sub 33% on 3’s. At best.

    Schroder is bad as well.

Average to the mean. Never as hot as your hottest streak ditto when you go cold. It evens out.

The Lakers were good at recognizing the problem and sang the right notes about it being a problem.

And like most FO’s they didn’t solve the problem they tried to mask flaws with defensive versatility.

There’s no reason not to have both. Or try the r try. Front office really didn’t try.

Context is important; We can’t wide open 3’s

    • If the role players didn’t show up in Game 5 but show up in Game 6 (which I doubt) that’s about them worrying about their own ass not the Lakers…

    • That’s a great point, magicman. Feels like all the guys we brought in to help add scoring punch (Wes, McLemore, Trezz, re-signed KCP and re-signed Kuzma) have brought almost no scoring lately, or aren’t even playing much. Caruso is a defense first glue type of guy so I don’t sweat it much when he scores in single digits but what he hasn’t been doing is attacking the defense. They have all, to a man, allowed the defense to dictate the their individual offense. That has to change like last weel.

Schroder and Drummond blow defensive assognments

True but if he doesnt take a big step forward they’re stuck with that pill. Not saying its not possible but it’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Caruso bought into LeBron and Vogel calling him B.J. Armstrong…

Alex, you’re a good player but your jumpshot is not good, you cant finish at the rim and your 1-1 defense is overrated.

Caruso is a good chase down defender but he’s not a lockdown defender and never will be.

Kuzma thinks he’s his generations Toni Kucoc.

Youre not dude. That dude was a big time shot maker not a guy who makes a big shot once in a while.

These guys talked about the ‘Intensity of the playoffs’ only caring about the playoffs.

    • When the chips are down they fold like a cheap suit too.

      • They make horrible decisions with the ball and can always be counted on to make a costly mistake at the worst possible times. Neither can be counted on to keep momentum going either. In the odd event they manage to hit a timely shot, you can rest assured, a heat-check brick is coming right after.

        • When Sasha had to deal with Shannon Brown internal competition won out…

          Ariza eventually outplayed Vlad Rad.

Lack of depth also gives guys the ability to become complacent because you’re also not being challenged by competition.

Kuz is gone teams love him Im guessing Rob gets a quality starter back.

          • You’re also dealing with the aging superstar thing. When “that dude” is at his peak, or at least kinda close to it, he can mask a lot of other deficiencies. Everybody looked great when Bron was having the best Year 18 season in history. Post-injury this year, not so much. He doesn’t look all the way back by a substantial margin. Throw in a maybe 75% AD this year, and this result isn’t at all surprising, and only goes on to further expose the team’s flaws. Hopefully this pending long layoff let’s the big 2 get back to 100%, reignites their hunger, and the FO FINALLY makes some moves to get anything more than these bums around them.

    • LeBron seems to like playing with Caruso & THT. So you already know what I’m about say. If he still wants them around then they’ll be here. Kuz? I don’t know…lol
