“A potential Heat target in trade this offseason
would be one Brandon Ingram, who recently signed a contract extension, last year’s Most Improved Player and a player who had issues with Stan [Van Gundy], and also I have heard doesn’t feel he’s a long-term fit with Zion [Williamson],” said Ethan Skolnick. “I’ve heard this from a couple of different people. Not that there’s a personality conflict, but it’s just not the best possible fit.”

Two weeks after replacing Danny Ainge as president of basketball operations for the Boston Celtics, Brad Stevens made a seismic first move in his new role.

Boston agreed to send All-Star point guard Kemba Walker, the 16th pick in this year’s NBA draft and a 2025 second-round selection to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Al Horford, Moses Brown and a 2023 second-round pick, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

It is unusual for any trade to happen before next week’s NBA combine, let alone one this significant. But Stevens has a long-standing relationship with Thunder general manager Sam Presti, and the deal accomplished key objectives for both franchises.

    • Moving off one bad contract for another with less term…IDK 😂

      • The Celtics also traded away Desmond Bane and Mattise Thybulle in last 2 drafts.

        • Matisse made the All-NBA defensive team and Bane made the All-Rookie 2nd team…

          • I’m not a ‘Bro’ but I do remember Ari Gold giving actors some good advice: “You pretty boys think 💣 bombs kill your career…nah everyone is capable of making a 💣 …What kills a career is passing on a hit project. You never recover.”

    • Never interfere with the enemy when he is in the process of destroying himself.

    • I think this is a break even move for both teams. Al didn’t want to play in OKC but is smart enough not to take those emotions into the media sessions. Kemba was the Danny Ainge “LOOK GUYS!!!! I signed an All Star!!!!” move. Never made a lot of basketball sense to me and he instantly aged. Brutal for wee guards when that first shred of speed and quickness goes. Most never adapt.

    • Those top 3 names will retire or resign or die. Not likely any of them are fired. I’d say Quin is a lifer as long as he wants. ..

    • Man..I’ve been totally unimpressed by Snyder in this series. Just haven’t seen a whole lotta adjustments..lets just chuck 3’s and hope for the best. And the Clipps were actually seeking out the DPOY with iso ball off those switches on the perimeter. Gotta do better..

The annual look at guys that have pretty much used up the last drop of Basketball 🏀 in their body:

    1) George Hill

George’s heady play isn’t enough to treat his defense and lack of impact negligible.

    2) P.J. Tucker

He’s slowed down significantly the last 2 years.

Beyond a gaffe to extend him beyond year-to-year

    3) Dwight Howard

Played 9 mins and is largely ineffective in his role. Though Philly’s bench is awful.

    • James Worthy was essentially traded twice by the Lakers…

      • Worthy was going to be traded for Roy Tarpley and Mark Aguirre Jerry West told Dr.Buss if he made the trade he would hand in his walking papers…Dr.Buss obliged said request

        • Worthy and Elden Campbell plus cash 💵 for Barkley…Philly pulled out due to small market peer pressure…It was financially beneficial for the Sixers…in the end they went with PHX and it was a 🧽 they got hosed.

Ben Simmons has missed more free throws this year in the playoffs than Steve Nash missed in the playoffs in his entire career.

Ben has shot 67 FTs. Steve Nash shot 440.

    • Smh 🤦‍♂️

      • I’m just going off eyesight, Steve was never adept at forcing fouls…Simmons is terrified to draw contact because he might have to finish at the line…

        • That was the Lonzo Ball knock, took him a few years but he did better this season. Outlier or future career? Only time will tell with LB. BS needs to work with Ricky Rubio’s shooting coach and get some shots up all summer long. Jumpers only, everything else works.

Hired his brother to help him in 2018 as a shooting coach

Chris Johnson is your shooting coach now…

Along with Doc pleading with Sam Cassell to help him…

Maybe this is on Ben that he can’t figure it out.

Blowing a 26 pt lead at homein the playoffs immediately disqualified from a DPOY 🥇 discussion.

    • Draymond shoots the 3pt % better than Simmons is at FTs

      • Jamie was partially correct about Earv’s shot…however around his 3rd year he became confident with his jumper…he developed a style that was comfortable for him. Earv developed “squat shot” while Earvin wasn’t the cut athlete Simmons is, Earv was ‘farm strong’ 💪 he made sure the shot was released with power through his hips and elbow…it was effective…because teams PF and wings could not sag off him…

        • And because he was 6’9 and the body position creates a low launch angle…it didn’t really concern Earv or Riley…

          • Simmons says he’s “naturally left-handed” yet finishes at the rim with his right hand…he’s been shooting with his wrong hand for 5 years…this isn’t a tick either…It’s Simmons ignoring logic and having testosterone overwhelm critical thinking…

            • Kevin Martin is one of the best bunch scorer in his gen…his shot mechanically shouldn’t have worked…he shot with his wrist and lack of an elbow hinge upon release…he made it work shooting from his body and wrist action…Simmons excuses for his whack shot is the result of not being able to execute from practice to games…

    • It’s a mental thing at this point..it’s in his head and he can’t get it out. I remember back in the day when Steve Sax suddenly couldn’t make the routine throw from 2nd to 1st base. BS needs a sports psychologist or hypnotist or a priest or something..

That means both Giannis and Luka adjust to new voices.

Might be good might end up working out.

Might make at least one of them slightly disgruntled…that’s when the 🎪 will begin

If Carlisle takes the Bucks job…

Picus confirmed what Coon said. We can sign Dennis for 30mil that the incoming salary for the trade partner. that trade partner cant send 30 mil back. We only receive 19 mil in credit. from what i read the only way we can trade dollar for dollor is if we are under the cap.

    • That thing in Dallas could go sideways fast. Seems like alotta clashing personalities in the mix..

      • That shadow GM stuff…He’s got moles

      • It always seemed crazy to me how the Mavs could never land any of the top free agents. Great city, rabid fan base, owner willing to spend money…but tea is starting to spill. Started with that sexual harassment fiasco. Seems like alotta weird stuff happening behind the scenes.

        • I had the same confusing thoughts on why they couldn’t…it’s no Toronto where that guy has to be traded for. Texas has the amenities to draw FAs…yup tea 🍵 is spilling.

    • If Carlisle takes the Bucks job they will win a chip. Giannis needs a real coach to help get him over the hump. Similar to how Shaq needed Phil after being swept out of the playoffs so often. Of course, it wouldn’t hurt if Giannis also had a young Kobe or Penny.

    • That fumbled pass underneath the basket should have been a dunk to tie the game. Biggest choke job in the playoffs I’ve seen in years. Give KD credit. He was what the Bucks were hoping Giannis could someday be. Nets luck out as Bucks choke.
