Doc Rivers teams have been eliminated from the playoffs 11 times in which they held a series lead (at any point).
No other coach in NBA history has lost more than 8 such series.
-
Doc Rivers has now blown three 3-1 leads, one 3-2 lead, one 2-0 lead, and lost Game 7 at home four times (five if you count the bubble)

Miami has to rearrange deck chairs to facilitate this…Philly can attach Simmons and take back Lowry and Baynes contract. Baynes has TO for next year. They could waive him…

This really is a nightmare for Philly fans. And Doc’s collapse reminds me of the Shining, where Jack just keeps reappearing as the ghostly apparition.
If Doc makes the playoffs next year, it’ll be the same song: Midnight and the Stars and a sweet Doc collapse.

Doc Rivers coughing up his ninth series lead…
03 ORL: Up 3-1 vs. DET
09 BOS: Up 3-2 vs. ORL
10 BOS: Up 3-2 vs. LAL
12 BOS: Up 3-2 vs. MIA
15 LAC: Up 3-1 vs. HOU
16 LAC: Up 2-0 vs. POR
17 LAC: Up 2-1 vs. UTA
20 LAC: Up 3-1 vs. DEN
*21 PHI: Up 2-1 vs. ATL*— Josh Eberley 🇨🇦 (@JoshEberley) June 21, 2021

He’s 6-9 in Game 7s. The above stat only reflects the series lost because of a blown lead…He blew a 3-2 lead against the Bulls in triple OT. They win in 7 eventually. He blew a 3-2 lead against Philly a couple years later won in 7. Was down 3-2 to Hawks in 2008. Won in 7.

Ben gone. They fired Brett Brown. He was the problem. Nah? He’s not. Ben lack of shooting is like the fly in the Martini. Totally exposed them…again. RAPS and now Hawks exploit him.
-
The Process ultimately will be a failure.
Simmons needs a new start somewhere.
And a freakin’ shooting coach and psychiatrist. -

Hard capped. Can’t use BAE. Depending on how dominos fall in certain directions. the NMLE is 9.7. Is offer Spence, Lou Will and JaMychal Green, Doug McDermott the whole thing.
Based on the fact I believe Kuz will be traded for a starter, as do Jamie and Tom.
DeRozan is pretty much the only guy out in FA who would take a discount for the Lakers/Clippers. I think he ends up with one of us or them.
We can’t use the BAE this year we used it on Wes for this season.
I’d be shocked if he signed for the Vet min. I think if you divide the NMLE it’d be enough.
He’s not a 3 pt specialist and he’s not gonna win DPOY. He’s gonna do his best on D and give you 20 every night. 5 mid-range shots, a few layups and going to the line 4 or 5 times.
Only vet mins and 9.7 NMLE to fill out the roster.

I’d offer Spence PO to entice him to stay. He loves Kobe and I think it’d be a chance of a lifetime. He may not sign here but we gotta try…we havemto try…

Problem is Denver can offer the NMLE to Green same as we could. I’d still think we’d have a larger role for him, he’s stuck behind Joker Porter Jr. and Gordon…he’d be my #1

I agree. I said I though whoever won this series would win the Championship…I believe this was a de facto Chip series…

No CP3 for ??? games is what swings it for me. Booker is amazing but he hasn’t found a “leadership” aspect to his game, yet.

As expected, Spencer Dinwiddie will opt out of his deal. Here are my projections for every other player and team option, along with a BORD$ valuation for each: https://t.co/M4Kg2fGLWh

Rob tried to trade for Spence with the expectation he would sit out. Rob, would have extended him obviously. It looks like he wants 12-18 range. We can’t quite get there right now.
-
Kuzma was offered and Marks said no. With Dinwiddie now leaving, the Nets have no return for him. Outside of Kyrie and Harden, they have no one else at the guard position with versatile create/score combos/skills.

Well dude, Kyrie hasn’t been able to finish a postseason 4 (2015, 2017, 2020, 2021) of the last 7 seasons…That’s a problem.

In team sports, rarely can a loss be 100% the fault of one person. You lost by 1 point and your star missed a shot at the buzzer people will focus on that last shot but not mention all the missed free throws from earlier. It’s never just one thing https://t.co/ltC38o4Pj8

this is an wxcellent pojnt. its why I take imbrage to the notion you can watch the last five minutes if anu sporting contest and be in the mkmenr and feel the full weight of the noment. you caughtvthe result, bot the process. which is fine but dont tell me you watchedbthw game, lol.

Imma let y’all in on a little secret. A lot of times when a team loses there’s really no one to blame. Losses are a part of sports. Y’all have been so conditioned to think there MUST be a scapegoat after a loss. Write that down, it’s going to be on the test.
— The Anonymous Nobody (@el_budget) June 20, 2021
NBA Twitter has a lot of people trying to get famous by any means necessary. Folks playing a character for engagement on here. They’re doing the exact same thing as skip. Tough scene.
— The Anonymous Nobody (@el_budget) June 20, 2021
Unfortunately people obsessing over legacies hurts the Twitter experience for normal NBA fans like me. Maybe it is part of the social media era but I feel like it is magnified by Bill Simmons and how he views sports. I like Bill but I hate that. https://t.co/CwpW9tIeTk
