The Russ to AD lob is going to become a big positive this year for the Lakers just as I think the one-man fast breaks by Russ will be. While there are negatives for the Lakers to manage, the positives are much greater than disgruntled Lakers fans think.
The bottom line is Russell Westbrook is a dramatic upgrade at point guard over Dennis Schroder. If Rob can pull off getting the Patty and Buddy show, the Lakers will be unstoppable. We’re going to find out just how good a defensive coach Frank Vogel is.
LeBron at the 4 and AD at the 5 is still the Lakers’ biggest and most important move of the offseason. That move by itself elevates the Lakers’ offense and defense to an entirely new level. Rob just needs to finish this sketch and transform it into a championship masterpiece.

Overall, Ariza Bazemore and Ellington are good fits on both sides…sure, Bazemore turned down more money, Ellington likely could have signed for the TPMLE at minimum, chose the Lakers…Ariza is a decent wing capable of playing the 4…Dwight is 2 years older but he’s a reliable Triple R big (run, rebound, roll)…Rob’s not done…
