Holy shit.
The comparison of Jaxson Hayes' use of the N-word to Meyers Leonard's antisemitism is making my blood boil.
I'd say the LAPD should be embarrassed, but that would imply they have the capacity to understand why they should feel that way, or that they care. https://t.co/Vc9delpgME

Man, I understand everyone has the right to decide their own destiny, but damn, I don’t get it when some people are deciding not to vaccinate. You can cry me a river but I don’t have a place for stupidity in me with how devastating this pandemic has been.

Since 2017:
2 NBA titles.
1 Covid Cup
1 Gold Medal. Not bad for a guy who was once the laughing stock of the league. That’s why you never close the book on a guy entirely. Always a time for another chapter.

The Mavs don’t have a secondary ball handler, which has been a major need that hasn’t been addressed. They’re not gonna make the 2nd round unless they get this player.
-
-
Tom, I’ve been consistent on this one. I won’t budge…as much as it pains me to say, he’d actually help Luka immensely…
-
Dennis is still a pretty good player. Just has flaws and didn’t handle the Lakers situation as well as he might have.
I just want to get something for him to help us at the trade deadline or next summer. Hated losing Alex for nothing. Don’t want the same to happen with Dennis.
Would even take him on the Lakers if that was the only option and his head was in the right place. Not ideal but we still do need a backup point guard behind Russ. But not if he’s not repentent and positive about staying.
-
You’re probably right, Sean, but I’ve never been one to burn bridges and the Lakers will desperately need a player on a tradeable contract at the trade deadline and next summer.
Just think the Lakers need to set up their roster so they have assets to make some moves at the deadline and next summer. They need a S&T or trade exception from Schroder or a short term deal if his head is not too screwed up. I’m not going to waver from that either.
Not getting something for Alex and Dennis doesn’t sit well with me what with the Lakers getting outspent by five other teams including the Bucks and Jazz. Los Angeles can’t complete with Milwaukee or Salt Lake City? Not if I were in charge of the Lakers.
-
I don’t think we’ll see us doing Dennis any favors. He didn’t just handle the Laker situation poorly he snubbed his nose at an amazing offer all season long while under-performing. Toss in a playoff no-show on a Ben Simmons level and then before free agenct started putting himself basically on a Kyle Lowry level with his “I’m looking for 20-25 mil” press releaee and we have the recipe for putting the cart before the horse

These old heads on ESPN, just joke around with themselves, pay no attention to their foolishness and reinforcing negative stereotypes they say they’re against…modt of the analysis about Basketball is fine…but most of these guya have personal agendas against this gemeration of ballers…
-
Thats another big reason pwople tune out the Jump, first take, etc… Its a soap box for mindless self-indulgent complaining/bitching…Perk and Jalen Rose and many others just straight up diss athletes…
-
Shaq eventually admitted he bullied Rudy and Spida because he begrudged the money they get…These people are supposed to analysts…that term is now a walking meme and joke…
-
In the NFL, Marcus Spears and Howie Long don’t bitch about Aaron Donald making more than them…on the contrary, they’re happy for the man…the NFL Analysts stick to the X’s and O’s while guys like Perk, Shaq are jealous of the Jimmy’s and the Joe’s.

If his head were in the right place, I’d give him $11 million to backup Russ.
We DO need a backup point guard and he’s worth more than $11 million.
And he bould be the perfect trading chip at the deadline or we dump him to avoid the tax.
And Dennis keeps his Brid Rights.9 Comments-
You’re worth what someone’s willing to pay you…not what what you’re worth to someone else, not what you think your worth…the market plays a role, individual responsibility plays a role…
-
It’s not up to Dennis Schroder, it’s not up to Rob Pelinka…Pelinka has already evaluated Schroder’s value…Not valuable enough to keep around…
-
Sure, could you bring him back, why though? He’s still not vaccinated, he caused disruptions in the locker with Kuzma…put himself above everything else…if Dennis Schroder was named Donald Trump…or played on a different team, many would sing 🎤 a different tune…

I agree, for me it’s not the money, either. The market shows it bears a talented back up PG (which for all his flaws Dennis indeed is) at between 10-15 mil. My issue is how he just didn’t show up for the team, made everything about himself. “I’d move to come back…if my starting role is assured and they’re willing to overpay me!” Also the double H&SP issue is a major one for me. While I understand people wanting to exercise their rights and some earned hesitancy in regards to the government mandating shits for all I’ve also come to the point that I am tired of hearing the burden of other folks freedom of choice. France is doing it right, IMO. At any rate, if he can’t get a deal now I don’t see us moving his deal later and I also don’t agree with the philosophy that we need to take on bad contracts so we have more trade money to play with. Better to be settled in knowing you’re here for the season and can do your best.
-
If Dennis is not in the right state of mind, it would obviously be a huge mistake to bring him back. But what if he’s just disappointed and has been working with the Lakers to try and find a S&T? What if he’s come to the point where he admits he made a mistake? All I’m saying is there are solid positive reasons to bring him back if his head is in the right mind. He wants to keep his Bird Rights and wants to rebuild his brand, no better place to do it than the Lakers.
The benefits for LA are getting a trading chip they could actually use before the deadline to fill a hole and take advantage of an opportunity. Otherwise, we’re going to have nothing but THT and Nunn as trading chips come the deadline or next summer. With zero cap space and trading chips, Lakers will be handcuffed.
Meanwhile, five teams, including the Bucks and Jazz are outspending us. I’m still even hoping that the Lakers will be able to pull something off to get a trade exception for Alex Caruso. Lakers are in good shape for this season but have left the arsenal empty for the trade deadline and next offseason.

I hate to see anybody shoot themselves in the foot like he did. Even if his season had worked out perfectly, he probably wasn’t gonna get a better offer than the Lakers extension..just by looking at what all the other PG free agents just signed for. He can probably make more money overseas at this point. ..?
-
He can prolly get more from a club team in Europe or Asia. He’s a good 👍 player not a star ⭐️ or a Supernova ☄️ and he over played his hand. Old adages exist for a reason…

With the recent run on big men in free agency it appears that the trend away from post play on the floor in the #NBA has come full circle on the business side as well. pic.twitter.com/veVNlvLKqe

The post game is one of fundamentals, ancient skills passed from one 7 footer to another. As time in college dwindled and analytics re-defined the game the low post game has suffered. The 3 point revolution will reach an apex at some point and I do wonder if that pendulum will swing back. I wouldn’t mind if half of the perimeter shuts designed to create fouls became quality shots in the paint.
