The Lakers went into game four of the first round of the NBA Playoffs looking to expand their lead in the series. And despite LA giving up a fifteen-point lead, the Grizzlies decided to continue to “Poke the Bear” but the Lakers and LeBron James responded with 22 points and 20 rebounds, some crucial baskets, and led a total team effort to pull out a 117-111 overtime win to take a 3-1 series lead over Memphis. Tune in as Joe Soro from lakersball.com and SynBlades.com, “MagicMan in the Morning” host Sean Grice, and Gerald Glassford from the Lakers Fast Break talk about the game, why the team effort pulled it out in the end, and what we can expect on Wednesday in Memphis. The Lakers are one win away from closing out the series and we’re covering it all on the Lakers Fast Break podcast!

The Lakers came into game two of their first-round matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies knowing star guard Ja Morant would be out of the lineup with an injured hand. Tune in as Stone Hansen from the Upside Swings NBA Draft Podcast, “MagicMan in the Morning” host Sean Grice, Joe Soro of lakersball.com and SynBlades.com, and Gerald Glassford from the Lakers Fast Break share thoughts on the game, what went awry, and can the Lakers regain their focus for game three on Saturday. The Lakers begin the postseason at the Crypt against a Minnesota Timberwolves team missing two of their best defenders in Jaden McDaniels and Rudy Gobert. The Lakers couldn’t find any rhythm for most of the game and despite a terrible mistake by Anthony Davis in regulation, the Lakers escape the Crypt with some clutch play from Dennis Schröder, Rui Hachimura, Davis, and LeBron James to get a 108-102 win in overtime. Tune in as Stone Hansen from the Upside Swings NBA Draft podcast, “MagicMan in the Morning” host Sean Grice, Joe Soro of lakersball.com and SynBlades.com, and Gerald Glassford from the Lakers Fast Break why they struggled with their performance which was disappointing most of the game, why it was good and bad for LeBron and AD, who stepped up and who fell flat, and if the Lakers have a chance against Memphis starting this weekend.

With the regular season coming to an end, the Lakers come into a final Sunday matchup with play-in and playoff positions up for grabs. And the Lakers, again with very little urgency to their game (outside of Anthony Davis) gave another listless performance in a 128-117 win to grab the 7th seed in the Western Conference and a home game on Tuesday night’s play-in vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves. Tune in as Joe Soro of lakersball.com and SynBlades.com, “MagicMan in the Morning” host Sean Grice, and Gerald Glassford from the Lakers Fast Break talk about how the play-in and playoff scenarios finally worked out, why the performance today was underwhelming, and if the game could be a PRECURSOR (LFB word) to a short stint in the playoffs. We also get you up to speed on the two signings the Lakers made today and if they can be of any help at all to the team. We meander into the postseason (but at least we made it) right here on the Lakers Fast Break podcast!

The Lakers coming off a back-breaking loss to the Clippers return to The Cryot to face a Suns team resting all of its key players. Tune in as Joe Soro of lakersball.com and SynBlades.com, Jamie Sweet of lakerholics.com, and Gerald Glassford from the Lakers Fast Break talk about why the energy just wasn’t there for the team most of the night, where they stand in the Western Conference rankings, and how important Sunday’s game is for the playoffs/play-in chances for the Lakers. The Lakers step into a back-to-back against the fresh Clippers trying to overtake the 5th spot in the Western Conference. But the Lakers energy loss was apparent from the jump as even a second-half charge fell short with a 125-118 loss to the Clippers. Tune in as “MagicMan in the Morning” host Sean Grice, Joe Soro of lakersball.com and SynBlades.com, and Gerald Glassford from the Lakers Fast Break lament over the decision to have LeBron and AD play in the game, the prospects on still trying to find a way to reach 6th in the Western Conference, defend LeBron against the continual line of haters, and what could happen on Friday against Phoenix. The Lakers started out the final four games of the season still on the road in Salt Lake City against the Utah Jazz. And the Jazz caught the Lakers looking ahead to tomorrow’s game against the Clippers, as they played the Lakers tough despite having several players out. But the Lakers, despite giving up a ten-point lead late in the game, squeaked out a 135-133 victory in overtime. Tune in as Kenneth Stone, Stone Hansen from the Upside Swings NBA Draft podcast, Joe Soro of lakersball.com and SynBlades.com, “MagicMan in the Morning” host Sean Grice, and Gerald Glassford from the Lakers Fast Break are worried about how the Lakers closed out today’s game, why this happened, and what the Lakers need to do against the Clippers on Wednesday. Plus can the team still move up higher than seventh in the Western Conference? Still many questions to ask as we wind down the regular season and we’re trying to answer them right here on the Lakers Fast Break podcast!

Great show gents. I will say i think the Lakers will play everyone (if they can go) until they clinch the 6th seed. if there are games to be played and we can’t fall back into the playin I expect them to sit AD, DLO and LBJ.
Some teams that have won more than expected may regret those W’s come Lottery Day but athletes aren’t wired to lose so there it is.
They do it for the Super Bowl, too. No NBA games. I think they realize it’s a net-sink in terms of attendance, ratings, et al.
Do we really match up better against SacTown or Phoenix? I honestly think it’s a wash. Clinch a playoff seed and be happy with the rest.

The Lakers continue the road trip with one of their most important games of the season as they went into the Target Center to face off against the Minnesota Timberwolves. And despite falling behind early, the Lakers clamped down defensively in the third quarter, and despite turning his ankle Anthony Davis gave a gutsy performance with 38 and 17 as the Lakers ran away and hid from the T-Wolves with a convincing 123-111 victory. Tune in as we have a PACKED house as LakerTom and Jamie Sweet from lakerholics.com, Joe Soro from lakersball.com and SynBlades.com, Stone Hansen from the Upside Swings NBA Draft podcast, “MagicMan in the Morning” host Sean Grice, and Gerald Glassford from the Lakers Fast Break celebrate the team’s great performance, give you an injury update and playing status on Anthony Davis, and where the team stands in the Western Conference now that they are above .500 for the first time since January 2022 and the first time this season. The Lakers started out their most important road trip of the year looking at a rematch against Patrick Beverley and the Chicago Bulls. And despite giving up a big lead in the first half, the Lakers regained form with Chicago-born Anthony Davis showing off in front of the home crowd with 38 points, LeBron James and Austin Reaves chipping in with 25 and 19 and the Lakers pulled away for a (relatively) easy 121-110 victory to get back one more time to .500. Tune in as “MagicMan in the Morning” host Sean Grice, Joe Soro of SynBlades.com and lakersball.com, and Gerald Glassford of the Lakers Fast Break talk about tonight’s game, what the Lakers are up against in Minnesota on Friday, and what this team looks like when it has all the main pieces together.
