Like when we gonna trade this old washed up guy anyway? As a team, we tried hard to give it away in the last 4 minutes, but LBJ wasn’t having it tonite. Hope this sparks us!

Why we whining so much? The experiment failed this year. Milwaukee champs last year, Lakers champs the year before. Lakers went 10 years without a Chip until LBJ. Injuries took us down, just like the Nets. Is what it is, for now.

They were barely respectable at full strength. It wasn’t injuries. It’s a horrible roster full of old declining guys and a few young guys who might be rotation players as they improve. Throw in a coach who’s doesn’t move the needle and you’ve got this mess. Feels like rock bottom, but I figure it gets worse when Bron shuts it down with like 10 games to play and AD doesn’t come back at all.
Any bets on if Frankie’s coaching next game?

Beyond bad coaching! LeBron was gassed for whatever reason, but he made some really bad choices not driving to the hoop and taking way too long on the last play. We missed too many shots when we were ahead, bad shots as well. Sometimes when guys like THT are hot, ya gotta go that direction. That actual shot the hurt the most was Reaves open 3 miss. But he gave us energy and might as well play him and leave Arisa on the bench. “that’s just the way it is, baby.”
-
Spot on DJ. Between Jordan and Ariza now I don’t understand what Frank is doing sometimes. I don’t have the Bradley bias some do but I was against DeAndre Jordan getting any kind of meaningful role before camp. The fact is that the Lakers need to make Reaves and THT look as valuable as possible in order to have some something to manufacture a deal for Russ this summer. Hard for me to see both on the team next season. Reaves is cheap, almost like getting a late 1st rounder but with some seasoning. THT…is THT, I see him topping out as solid role-player, maybe a potential 6th man of the year in 3 or 4 seasons after he’s had a lot more time to work on his game. We can’t wait for that, we need impact guys who show up every game, all season long. THT hasn’t shown he can be that guy, yet.
Anyhow, between his weird coaching this season (likely stemming from fear he’s about to get fired every other day), his inability to get more out of what is admittedly a pretty terrible roster and the no defense from a defensive coach I expect to see someone else on the job next season.

They gave it their all and still suck. I stand by my prediction Lebron and AD shut it down before the season ends.
-
Nice pass to Melo with the game on the line when they’re all must wins. But he’s still the king, right? Makes you appreciate Kobe that much more.
-
There’s a clear path going forward and it doesn’t include Lebron or Klutch.
1. Convince AD to get a new agent. Rich Paul (and Lebron by Proxy) are sullying the sport with the way they like to handle business. It works when you’ve got a once in a lifetime player, but when that guy’s no longer it, you need to stfu and act like a professional. If he won’t, trade him. He’s the only asset they’ve got worth squat anyway.
2. Trade Lebron. Guys get old all the time. Sometimes it’s precipitated by a devastating injury, sometimes it happens gradually over time and the untrained eye fails to even notice. It happens to the best of them. Jordan. Kobe. Even Magic was starting to show signs of age before he had to abruptly retire. Like it or not, Lebron is at that stage. The numbers are often still close to peak, but the wins escape them. The game altering plays don’t happen often enough and are fewer and further in between to move the needle. Nothing feels all that different but the W-L column. Fanboys refuse to acknowledge it. Team management absolutely won’t call it out, but they’re well aware. The media is reticent to call it. The player himself starts with the excuses and finger pointing.
But it plays out the same way every time. The guy just doesn’t have it the way he once did and it’s one of the toughest minefields to navigate in sport – The Aging Superstar. Well he’s not a career Laker. The isn’t Magic, Kobe, Kareem, or even Jerry West (and we all know how that one went). This is a manipulator who wanted to be in LA for his kid’s underwhelming high school career, and that’s coming to a close, coinciding with the last year of his contract. 3 out of 4 seasons have been utterly disappointing. The lone outlier had a well-timed 3 1/2 month layoff that led to what everyone outside the PnG fandom considers a tainted ring. Need I remind anyone that AD was already hurt going into that layoff and with everything we’ve seen, there was certainly no guarantee he’d have been right for the playoffs.
So while I don’t believe there’ll be a team looking to give up any real value for an old Lebron knowing that he’s still comes with his carnival barker/hype man/conflict of interest “agency head” Richie and a set of demands no longer commensurate with level of impact on the court, see if someone else falls for the ropadope. The Lakers deserve better and it starts with getting rid of this clown show.

But it’s a path the Lakers are not going to take.
They will bet on LeBron James, as they should.
You can try to talk or wish something different
But it’s not going to happen.-
That’s a bet destined to lose. You can push your toxic positivity on everyone as much as you like, but this ain’t your first rodeo. Teams don’t win with diminishing assets leading the way and you know it. It’s time for a little imagination and some credit to the fan base. There won’t be some mass revolt and empty seats at the arena if they move on. Lebron doesn’t even make you viable on the court at this stage, much less a contender. The more they invest and toss away the future on this, the longer it’ll take to recover. You’ll likely be six feet under by the time they’re back in the hunt should they stay the course. Maybe you’re seeing something I’m not, but this dude just doesn’t have the juice to get it done any more. Why you’d think that’d somehow turn into rings is beyond comprehension. You can try and talk or wish Lebron finding the fountain of youth and bringing another championship to the Lakers given the horrific state of the roster, complete lack of assets, and constraints of the cap and collective bargaining agreement, but it’s not going to happen.

Let me think. LeBron brought us a Chip. However, these other guys will….what? I forgot about Nance, Randle, Waterboy, Ball, Ingy, Clarky and so on about where they got their ring? And Cleveland is back in the hunt now and so is Miami (Finals 2 years ago). Amazing how they could recover after Bron left em, ha, ha.
Well it’s been 8 years since LeBron left the Heat. They still had Wade and Bosch left so they were still good a couple of years before sliding into mediocrity for a couple of years. Cleveland was just plain bad. Made some really good draft picks with the lottery picks they got. We still owe the Pels a couple of first round picks and now the talk is to trade 2 more first round picks for who? The right to dump Russ? Oh yea if we get really bad and the Pels are better they have the right to swap draft picks with us as well. I don’t mind trying to win now if there were moves that could clearly improve our chances but the kind of deals available for what we have isn’t going to do that. So I’m not in favor of throwing away what little we have left for players that aren’t going to help us win a ring.

What’s the deal with dumping THE Star of the NBA who brought us a CHIP after 10 years in the desert? He is a marvel at his age, at any age. Lakers shouldn’t be about average!

And LeBron isn’t letting me down, that’d be Rob, Jeannie, AD (no fault of his own), Westy and all the retreads we brought in.
-
Well you are consistent if nothing else in going overboard for your idols. Lebron carried a much sadder group of scrubs to the finals in ’07. Don’t believe me? Drew Gooden was their 2nd leading scorer at 12.8. Now your beloved king can’t get this group on solid playoff footing. When are you gonna finally come around and realize that despite the decent stats, when these worldbeaters lose that extra gear, it’s their salaries and weight on the organization that’s doing more harm than good at this point?
-
Don’t think LeBron has gotten anywhere close to the point you are talking about. If the Lakers are not willing to trade picks and spend lavishly, then they will have nobody but themselves to blame for the situation they would be in. Frankly, having a clean cap situation with just AD under contract and loads of cap space is not the end of the world that the Cavs faced when Bron left.
-
Trade picks for what though? They followed Klutch’s “guidance” and it got them a bunch of nothing. Overpaid for THT instead of ditching him for Kyle. Traded what they did have for a less than useless Russ. Now they’re pushing to trade Russ AND a pick to get what’s probably an equally useless Wall. Then Rich (and Lebron) will wanna get Wall paid for a few more years at the Lakers expense when Lebron will be gone.
So while we can thank them for the bubble ring, it’s obvious Lebron can’t elevate a team any longer and the juice ain’t worth the squeeze. The numbers look good, but the “WOW” plays are done, and that was the extra he brought. That was what made it worth putting up with the nonsense that came with having him on the squad. The passive-aggressive posturing. The overpaying Klutch bums. All the other nonsense that Lebron’s prime greatness overcame. He can no longer overcome that by himself. Stupid roster moves cannot be compensated with a greatness that no longer exists.
You refused to acknowledge it with Kobe, and given the emotional connection, I could at least excuse it. With this carpetbagger, wgaf? If you don’t have a top-3 guy in his prime and he comes with all this nonsense, IT’S JUST NOT WORTH IT. Burn it down while there’s still some kindling, otherwise it’ll be a lot worse on the other side.

Lousy fade shot from Monk and LBJ when we had it rolling and as usual get 3’s down out throat. Team is a hard watch. Fundamentals are real bad.

And they hit 2 late for the win. And re it’s just the way it goes, the greenies clobber Philly one night and lose to Detroit the next. And the Knicks, the MVF, despite not winning a chip since 1970, blow a 28 point lead to BKN. Lots for fans to grumble about, but all you can do is root for your team and its health.

Rams win on a Officials whistle. Same thing was done earlier by Rams with no call. BTW, I don’t have anything in this fight, just hate to see Refs decide the game.
I wouldn’t have minded if they called contact like that the same all game. All game, guys get bumped or hands where they shouldn’t, so on and so forth then at the end the yellow starts to fly. Refs have it hard, no doubt, tons of money hinges on them as much as the players. Still, hate to see big games decided by the stripes.
-
Money hinges, hmmmmmm, lol. Rams winning is great for NFL, not so sure Cincy win would get the same Hooray? All the NFL PO games were terrific this year. Not sure why I am not a total LA fan? Guess cuz I grew up with Bart Starr and The Mick. Found Laker love at St. Louis when Father and Mother took me to see West and Baylor!

We lost because we were up 6 and gave Klay, was it 4, open looks, That is beyond lousy “D.”

The crisp rotations we had last season? Gone. LBJ can’t do it all but he still needs to at least box out a little now and again. Need to play the younger guys more.
-
To be fair, 2 of those came off lucky bounces. One came when we tipped a pass and it bounced right to him. The other came off a shot that bricked so badly that there no way to catch the rebound. He ended up with that one too. Sometimes you just have bad luck. We win without those two.

I think we put the Big3 together and finish it out. Fogel gonna have to get those 3 together and tell each their primary roll. Best I can figure.

Wow, have we hit rock bottom yet? This has to be a win! Ya’ll know we got no chance against Warriors. Could beat Utah? I feel bad for Lebron, just wasting him like Kobe. If we gonna fold the tent let Lebron go for????
