Aloha,
Lonnie is looking pretty good this month.
18.9 pts 44% from 3 on 5.4 shots a game.
Considering he is amazing at the rim and also defends he is making a case as a legitimate number 3 scorer. If this kind of play continues he should be a high priority to keep this summer. No bone head trades please. Keep the cap space.

While I still think we need to make a trade with AD playing at this level, keeping enough cap space to sign Lonnie merits serious consideration. He is a great young talent who’s a perfect fit for this roster. Would I feel differently if I knew we could sign Turner and Walker with our $35M? It’s possible but I would prefer to send out one pick to get Turner for sure and then re-sign him. It was a big mistake not trading for him before camp imo.
It hurt to lose Monk but Lonnie is in a different league when it comes to trying to keep him. I could see him as our shooting guard of the future. Much prefer that over going after LaVine or Beal or Irving or another highly paid ball dominant superstar who would steal touches from LeBron and AD. Lonnie is a starter to me just like LeBron and Anthony.
Now down the road once LeBron is gone, then we do need a young guard to be the second superstar along with AD. I just don’t see making a move to get that player for another couple of years. We have to try and win now not ony because of LeBron but now because of AD.;

There was a nice piece on him recently on espn.com. He’s got the character to go along with the hops.
