I’d love to see the Lakers play that lineup but won’t happen today since Russ and LeBron won’t play. It’s a different way of getting two shooters in the lineup at the 2 and 4. Melo and Monk would be a dynamic shooting combination. More size than playing three guards. This is the kind of lineups that make so much more sense than DeAndre at the five.

There are 2 Athletes who are completely unique to their respective sports: Lamar Jackson QB of the Baltimore Ravens NFL fame and Trae Young PG of ATL Hawks fame…
Lamar is a threat to score on every play during a possession. RPO’s (Run-Pass-Option). It seems rather simplistic until you have to dig into the weeds…
Trae Young is the best PG in the NBA at KPO’s (Kick-Penetrate-Option)…Russ is the greatest triple double threat of the 21st century and has a mature game…CP3 also not as aerial gifted like Trae, has Book, an elite combo guard and Ayton, a RRR (Run-Rebound-Roll) Frankenstein…Luka is a 6’’8 virtuoso yet, he’s half a foot taller than Trae and finished almost a full assist behind him…
He can run KPOs going North to South and East to West…he can create different options based on his speed and creativity
He’s not an aerial player, he’s not adept at necessarily creating space due to athleticism…however…
He’s got flutter speed like a hummingbird…Zit creates opportunities for KPOs that’s so unique…
Hey, Sean. I think Trae is greatly unappreciated but if they were to re-draft that class, there’s noboby who wouldn’t take Luka #1 based on what we’ve seen from him. I also think there’s no way the Hawks would make that trade for Trae if given a second chance.

Re-drafting is always fun. The benefit of the time machine makes mince meat of reality. There were clearly 12 teams who would have taken Kobe in any redraft instead of #13
Not meaning to take anything away from Trae but Luka is a generational talent. Credit the Mavs for their faith and excellent overseas scouting.
My only question about Luka is he is already posting such great numbers you have to wonder whether he’s approaching his ceiling right now because his floor is so high.
I mean how much can he improve? Now Trae is nowhere near his ceiling in my mind and has a lot more room to grow. Can he surpass Luka eventually? That’s a possibility because I think he has more room to grow than Luka does.
