Not a surprise, but the Lakers' top 3 playoff lineups by NetRtg all have Kieff on them.
(Minimum 10 minutes played)Interestingly enough, the third lineup (AC/Kuz/Bron/Kieff/AD) also has the highest pace (117.26) by far among all such lineups. pic.twitter.com/UAOadM7iIu

And there’s no reason why that lineup won’t work just as well against the Clippers and Celtics.

If Zubac starts so will McGee is what I would imagine Frank would do, but who knows. I honestly didn’t think he had this chnage in him.

I was surprised too but thrilled that he did it. I wonder if this was something supported by his assistant coaches or whether Frank wanted to speed up the rotations to make the defense better. Either way, it;s a great sign because the Morris small ball lineups worked great at both ends of the court.
It would have been easy for Frank to start McGee and let him play just a few minutes, which makes me think the change could be permanent, although I haven’t heard anything. I did hear AD talk about JaVale and Dwight being good teammates and he didn’t say anything about JaVale being back in the lineup next series.
Either way, I do think JaVale and/or Dwight will get opportunities going forward but they will need to really perform at a high level to continue getting PT. I could see Frank limiting the rotations to LeBron, AD, Morris, Green, and KCP to start and Rondo, Kuzma, and Caruso and half of THT off the bench. That’s an 8.5 man rotation, which is where it should be in the conference and NBA Finals.
