Could be the problem with the Lakers was the role players they signed vs. the role players the Clippers signed? Hard to put the Lakers failures on Frank’s shoulders rather than the players’.
Reggie Jackson was what the Lakers hoped they got with Dennis Schroder. Terance Mann was what they hoped they got with THT. Nicolas Batum what they hoped they got for Ben McLemore. Etc.
Bubble Championship also showed Lakers role players like Kuzma, KCP, Morris, THT, and even Caruso were overrated. Net result was three starters who wouldn’t start for most playoff teams and a host of role players off the bench who might get DNP’s on other playoff teams.

Full house! Great points by everyone, LROb and LT grouse each other on the issue of one Andre’ Drummond and Gerald blames me for the world’s ills.

It was fun. Bottom line is in the imfamous words of Mr. Phelps from Mission Impossible, Vogel and Lebron’s mission is to figure out how to max Drummond’s skills. We’ll see if they can accomplish it or if the season will self destruct.

Jamie said it best during the podcast. It’s highly unlikely that there’s enough time for the Lakers to transform Drummond into a winning player after spending 8 seasons on losing teams. That’s asking too much in too little time. Vogel needs to make decision to go with AD and Gasol at the five and only play Drummond and Harrell when they have a favorable matchup in the playoffs.
