The Lakers continue the Grammy trip in Charlotte without LeBron, without Anthony Davis, and without Malik Monk and Dwight Howard, but they give their gutsiest performance of the season in a loss to the Hornets 117-114. Tune in as Jamie Sweet from lakerholics.com (the only one tonight to heed the call to come on) stops by to rave about the intestinal fortitude shown by the team, the historic second half for Russell Westbrook, rant on the bad call that decided the game, and wonder why we can’t see this fire from the team more often. All this and we update the team’s standing in the Western Conference and what comes up next on the Lakers Fast Break podcast!

Funny how the reasons people show up or don’t show up for any specific podcast are often misrepresented. For the record, I’ve offered to be a guest after each game, making sure Gerald was not forced to go solo. I offered the same last night but asked to come on Sunday instead. Wasn’t related to my ability or willingness to show up after a tough loss, something I believe I’ve always been the one Gerald could count on to be there. Anyways, good job by Gerald and Jamie.
