LakerTom says
Like I said on the podcast, Lakers may be lucky that this injury happened now with four days to go until the trade deadline rather than afterwards. At least it gives us a chance to do something big before it’s too late. That may be the silver lining we need. Both superstars out for an indefinite period of time. That’s a clear call for Rob to be thinking bold to save this season. No standing pat or making small moves. We need a quality point guard who can run the offense and an elite rim protector to anchor the defense.
We saw some great play the last four games when LeBron sat and that’s what we’re going to need the next few weeks. Pick and rolls with Trezz, who played like a warrior tonight, and ball screens for THT to attack the rim. KCP needs get going or get sat. He was terrible at both ends. Can’t have as starting guard averaging 8 points per game and afraid to shoot. No time for Vogel to playing the long game. If Lakers don’t make big moves and the team doesn’t play at their peak, we could easily be fighting for the playoffs and LeBron and AD fighting to get into playoff shape the last 2 to 4 weeks of the season.
Time for the players, coaches, and front office to put on their big boy pants or this season is toast. Basketball gods taketh away. Lakers need to go big to get them to giveth it back. There are big moves the Lakers can make to turn a silver lining into a championship. Can’t do that by being timid. Big boy time.
