LakerTom says
Fun podcast as Gerald and I kick off the midseason trading talk with a lot of discussion of what it means for the Lakers opening up the possibility of adding Russell Westbrook to THT and Nunn as valuable trading chips.
While I would love Ben Simmons, the fact that the Lakers have discussed trading Westbrook is the big news as there are many teams out there for whom he could be a smart move.
There may come a time, however, when Daryl has to accept that Russ might be the best he can get for Ben. There may also come a time when Rich says Ben will only play for the Lakers this year.
Lakers should continue exploring the opportunities because THT and Nunn will not be enough to get the Lakers the players they need to win another title.
Sixers, Pacers, Pelicans, Celtics, Pistons, Hawks, Nets, Cavs, and Mavs are all potential candidates who might be interested in trading for Russell Westbrook, especially as he continues to improve his play with the Lakers.
