The Lakers step into a back-to-back against the fresh Clippers trying to overtake the 5th spot in the Western Conference. But the Lakers energy loss was apparent from the jump as even a second-half charge fell short with a 125-118 loss to the Clippers. Tune in as “MagicMan in the Morning” host Sean Grice, Joe Soro of lakersball.com and SynBlades.com, and Gerald Glassford from the Lakers Fast Break lament over the decision to have LeBron and AD play in the game, the prospects on still trying to find a way to reach 6th in the Western Conference, defend LeBron against the continual line of haters, and what could happen on Friday against Phoenix. The Lakers might be gassed, but we still have lots of energy right here at the Lakers Fast Break podcast!

The Lakers started out the final four games of the season still on the road in Salt Lake City against the Utah Jazz. And the Jazz caught the Lakers looking ahead to tomorrow’s game against the Clippers, as they played the Lakers tough despite having several players out. But the Lakers, despite giving up a ten-point lead late in the game, squeaked out a 135-133 victory in overtime. Tune in as Kenneth Stone, Stone Hansen from the Upside Swings NBA Draft podcast, Joe Soro of lakersball.com and SynBlades.com, “MagicMan in the Morning” host Sean Grice, and Gerald Glassford from the Lakers Fast Break are worried about how the Lakers closed out today’s game, why this happened, and what the Lakers need to do against the Clippers on Wednesday. Plus can the team still move up higher than seventh in the Western Conference? Still many questions to ask as we wind down the regular season and we’re trying to answer them right here on the Lakers Fast Break podcast!

Great show gents. I will say i think the Lakers will play everyone (if they can go) until they clinch the 6th seed. if there are games to be played and we can’t fall back into the playin I expect them to sit AD, DLO and LBJ.
Some teams that have won more than expected may regret those W’s come Lottery Day but athletes aren’t wired to lose so there it is.
They do it for the Super Bowl, too. No NBA games. I think they realize it’s a net-sink in terms of attendance, ratings, et al.
Do we really match up better against SacTown or Phoenix? I honestly think it’s a wash. Clinch a playoff seed and be happy with the rest.
CBA talk!!! “Are you not entertained?!” Yeah, work stoppage would be the worst.
-Love the 65 game minimum for major awards
-Love no ganja testing
-Private Equity being the NBAPU is basically an optics thing. These guys are smarter than foot ball leagues that allow pretty much anyone with a cool billion to invest in a team. Murdering Saudi Prince? We love money! Russian Oligarch who sells teens for sex? Cash rules! This step is to allow owners to bolster revenue and up payroll without sacrificing the platform the players have worked hard to create.
-Smoothing is brilliant, should have been done last time.
-LOVE the 3 two-way deals
-24 hours to match makes sense, what’s the extra day for but to penalize the team that made the offer sooner.
-NBA fax technology is top line man, don’t diss it!
-I don’t mind the semi-hard cap. I think it makes so much more sense to encourage teams to use the draft but I do wish it came with provisions in terms of players who have played for one team for X number of years counting less towards the cap. I’d like for it to reward loyalty and chemistry.
-The unruly fan was an utter jack-ass
-Gerald is right, Larry Coon should be at least second in command in the front office…

The Lakers continue the road trip with a rematch in Houston with the Lakers looking to get revenge with AD and LeBron James playing this time around. And the Lakers, coming off a big win in Minnesota continued the momentum as they took control early and never looked back with Anthony Davis (40 points), Rui Hachimura (20), and a LeBron James triple-double leading to a dominating 134-109 victory. Tune in as “MagicMan in the Morning” host Sean Grice, Joe Soro of SynBlades.com and lakersball.com, Stone Hansen from the Upside Swings NBA Draft podcast, LRob, and Gerald Glassford at Lakers Fast Break rejoice over another great victory as the team heads to two games over .500 and 7th spot in the Western Conference. Plus we take some to discuss the Collective Bargaining Agreement just approved between the NBA and its players. We celebrate the best weekend of the year for the Lakers on the next Lakers Fast Break podcast!

5 Things: The Real Season
The Lakers did what was needed to control their destiny and end up as the 3rd seed. They have a date with the 6th seeded Minnesota Timberwolves.
