The Lakers begin the postseason at the Crypt against a Minnesota Timberwolves team missing two of their best defenders in Jaden McDaniels and Rudy Gobert. The Lakers couldn’t find any rhythm for most of the game and despite a terrible mistake by Anthony Davis in regulation, the Lakers escape the Crypt with some clutch play from Dennis Schröder, Rui Hachimura, Davis, and LeBron James to get a 108-102 win in overtime. Tune in as Stone Hansen from the Upside Swings NBA Draft podcast, “MagicMan in the Morning” host Sean Grice, Joe Soro of lakersball.com and SynBlades.com, and Gerald Glassford from the Lakers Fast Break why they struggled with their performance which was disappointing most of the game, why it was good and bad for LeBron and AD, who stepped up and who fell flat, and if the Lakers have a chance against Memphis starting this weekend.

With the regular season coming to an end, the Lakers come into a final Sunday matchup with play-in and playoff positions up for grabs. And the Lakers, again with very little urgency to their game (outside of Anthony Davis) gave another listless performance in a 128-117 win to grab the 7th seed in the Western Conference and a home game on Tuesday night’s play-in vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves. Tune in as Joe Soro of lakersball.com and SynBlades.com, “MagicMan in the Morning” host Sean Grice, and Gerald Glassford from the Lakers Fast Break talk about how the play-in and playoff scenarios finally worked out, why the performance today was underwhelming, and if the game could be a PRECURSOR (LFB word) to a short stint in the playoffs. We also get you up to speed on the two signings the Lakers made today and if they can be of any help at all to the team. We meander into the postseason (but at least we made it) right here on the Lakers Fast Break podcast!

The Lakers coming off a back-breaking loss to the Clippers return to The Cryot to face a Suns team resting all of its key players. And despite sleepwalking through three and a half quarters, the Lakers did find enough energy to outlast the reserve Suns team 121-107. Tune in as Joe Soro of lakersball.com and SynBlades.com, Jamie Sweet of lakerholics.com, and Gerald Glassford from the Lakers Fast Break talk about why the energy just wasn’t there for the team most of the night, where they stand in the Western Conference rankings, and how important Sunday’s game is for the playoffs/play-in chances for the Lakers. The Lakers might have been asleep for much of today’s game but rest assured we’re wide awake right here at the Lakers Fast Break podcast!
