Not entirely but there will be no MLE or S&T because Kyrie’s not a free agent. There is still a 3-team trade to be made if we can move Russ for pieces the Nets like. Of course, the question is then why would we trade those pieces for Kyrie?
Actually this was the only move he could make if he wants to be traded., especially to the Lakers. A sign and trade would put the Lakers up against the hard cap with a lot of spots to fill. So actually I feel like the real drama is just beginning,
Could LakerTom’s dream of getting under the cap and thus opening up the path to keeping Monk, signing Hartenstein AND ridding us of Westbrook come true?! I still say nay but I would be just peachy being wrong on that one.
I felt from the jump that Brooklyn would be foolish to break that thing up already without ever really seeing it on the court. They still could make a trade but at least now with the clock paused it won’t be rushed. Lakers never had the pieces to entice them into a s&t in the 1st place.
So if he stays they have a core of Kyrie, KD, Simmons, Seth Curry, Joe Harris, & Patty Mills. Not sure if they have the Bird rights to Claxton & Bruce Brown but thats a top 4 team in the east … theoretically… lol
The move they really missed the boat on was dumping Steve Nash. That dude was a deer in the headlights when the playoffs rolled around.

Let the 3 way trade proposals begin. There will be MANY ๐

I don’t see many teams wanting to get into a threeway with us…too much drama ๐
