As a Lakers fan, I’ve always supported and rooted for every new head coach we had whether I was in favor of hiring them or not. After Walton bombed, I was not a Vogel fan or Ham fan but I jumped aboard as a loyal Lakers fan and supported both of them.
As I close in on my 80th birthday at the end of this year, though, I have become focused on wanting to see my Lakers, Yankees, and 49ers win additional championships. Yankees and 49ers are doing great. All I needed was a reason to believe the same is happening for my Lakers.
Thanks to JJ Redick, I truly believe my championships will jump from their current 17, 27, and 5. Like to go out with 20/30/10 before I hang ’em up.
