I guess Frank wants to give him another chance. If he doesn’t do well, he could be out of the rotation going forward. Good luck, JaVale. Time to start playing better is right now.

I will say it’s a tenuous hold on that starting spot, at best. If he has another fairly ineffective 5-10 minutes in the 1st quarter, and definitely if we lose, I could see him getting benched in favor of Dwight.
While McGee has a slightly more expansive skill set (decent jumper, better passer, has the best cheering moves) Dwight is the better defender and probably the better scorer. So it’s not like we;re upending the apple cart or anything. JaVale did great during the regular season. This is a different one. But I’m personally glad he’s getting another crack at it. That’s how you treat a professional in any field. You give them a couple chances to stop blowing it.
I would not have started him but I understand why Frank did. Nevertheless, I’ll be rooting for him to play well but he better realize he’s going to be on a very short leash.
