Chilling on the East coast, was highly disappointed (but not really surprised) with the overall effort in Houston and hope this squad can find something resembling consistent effort going forward. We have one more back to back just before the season ends. We can’t afford to lose many more games to anyone from here on out. If AD does sit out that second game they have to start Wenyan. Rui is too small and not a natural rebounder or paint defender. Wenyan is. I don’t care if his offense is worse, you need someone with size, ability and skill to rebound. Russ made our small ball line up work because he got after it on the glass, that’s not a skill set we have anymore. That’s why I have been low-key pushing/hoping for us to sign another big man (I prefer Cousins because of his overall skillset but it never really mattered due to the low amount of
minutes that player would have gotten). It’s not too late for that, either, as I believe we can sign a player to the roster up until the last day of the regular season. I would imagine, however, that the front office is balking at this out of cheapness so don’t hold your breath.
At any rate, it won’t really matter if the overall energy and focus isn’t there. I think it was 2 or so weeks ago I suggested this team adopt a “game 7” mentality as a de facto mentality and that needs to be more than a suggestion. We’re as vulnerable to miss the playin as make the actual playoffs right now. Treat the game right, the basketball gods will reward you. Fuck around and find out and it’s all but guaranteed the result will be highly disappointing and likely result in several players being jettisoned. It’s astounding to me that guys who are fighting to possibly stay in the Association would give shitty effort but here we are. Need to be on point against Dallas and not think the game is in the bag because Luka is sitting. That’s a recipe for disaster.

Hey, Jamie, welcome to the East Coast. Enjoy your time in New York.
I think this is something you do annually, swinging through the East Coast and visiting in-laws, I believe. Hope you can adjust to the time difference. Tonight’s game is at 10:30 pm, so be prepared to stay up late. That’s what I go through on game nights when the Lakers are playing at home.
My wish for tonight’s game is fewer turnovers and better rebounding. With that said, I am hoping for a win. Looking forward to your 5er after the game.

Thank you Buba! Yup, we do this swing thru at least twice a year to see my wife’s family. Slept very late today (first day here) so hopefully I’m adjusted and am trying to decide if I should hang out in the hotel and watch on my phone or see if there’s a sports bar I can get to on my dogs.
I agree, if our energy and focus is there things like rebounding and turnovers should take care of themselves.
