I don’t what’s up with the Ball boys but they are as fragile as frack. Lemolo broke his ankle so I’m wondering if the Hornets will free Kelly Oubre and buy him out.
Michael, I have grappled with the same question about the Ball players and couldn’t understand why they are always injured. They are such a talent but just can’t seem to stay away from injuries. Does anybody hear from Lamar Ball?
I have been saying this for a long time. Bring in, Carmelo Anthony. He is the player who can help keep us afloat while LeBron is sidelined.
And speaking of LeBron, I am very depressed about his injury situation, and does not look very encouraging. At this point in his career and age, he is going to be more prone to injury even in noncontact situations. I believe that his heart is there but father time wouldn’t be forgiving.
His injury has completely taken away my excitement over last night’s win and instead, I am feeling like I am mourning the loss of something so dear to me. If he is going to be out for an extended period then we might as well forget about this season. I don’t have the exact stats but we have a higher loss percentage than a winning percentage when LeBron is out.
Maybe our dept with this new look roster might save our season. But I am very depressed now.
Not totally sure it’s totally about Daddy-Time. So many young guys get hurt as well, like the Ball boys and Maxey and Booker and so on. Lakers ran Kobe into the ground as well. Work load should have been way less for LBJ!
Lakers surely do not need a zero defender like Melo.
Team will be fine. AD just has to step up and take over.
Now we’ll see how deep this team really is.
Tom, I thought Melo’s wasn’t as bad on the defensive end as a lot of people made it out to be. My main concern is how to minimize the effects of losing LeBron scoring-wise. Keep in mind that LeBron has regressed on the defensive end too, but just a tad I should say, although occasionally he is stellar. Just out of curiosity, who would you prefer out there in the market to help in this situation? As always I trust your opinion. Let me know what you think.
Buba, I’m still too high on the new look roster to give up on this season. Even if LeBron’s injury prevents us from making the playoffs, I love the moves Rob made and the starting lineup and rotation we have.
I’ve been one of Rob’s most merciless critics but I give him the credit for being the professional to my amateur. He not only got players who were probably not available last summer but also got them at a massive discount over what he would had to pay last summer. Rob essentially pulled off an extreme roster makeover with one protected first round pick.
What do we know?
– LeBron’s foot injury has no structural damage, will not require surgery, and will NOT be season ending
– LeBron’s foot needs time for inflammation to go down and he may play through it in a couple of weeks when he returns
With Vando and AD, we have the horses to keep playing well on D and that will still be the key to us making the playoffs. Remember, what’s improved since the trades has been our defense, jumping from #20 to #3. LeBron is part of that but I think we can still be a top-5 defense.
You’re right that offense will be where we miss LeBron, both his points and his assists. Important that DLO gets back quickly as he is the key player to fill that void in scoring and playmaking.
Who replaces LeBron. I think we will see Darvin try a couple of different lineups. Rui is an obvious option to replace LeBron in the starting lineup although I would also think Bamba could be interesting. Maybe we matchup against the other team instead of having just one player take James’ minutes.
Regardless, this will be the truest test of the new look roster. We should have the depth and diversity to handle LeBron missing two or three weeks. That’s a long way from not being able to win at all without LeBron to thinking we can survive and still make the playoffs but I think this team is up for it.
James will be back. We just need to keep on holding the fort. Persevere.
…isn’t that the exact thing we’ve been hoping he would do for three seasons now? Yeah, that’s what I thought.
Melo would be a solid add, better than Nerlens who will either take minutes from Mo or not play at all and Melo can get buckets when you need one. Name another available player you can say that about? There isn’t one. Will Barton is non-starter for me, just hanging onto his NBA career at this point and that by a thread.
Like the Thomas Bryant shade you threw all season long I also don’t get this but whatever, likely the Lakers do nothing anyhow.

Well we only know he’s seeking more opinions right now. It could break better for us like AD’s injury ended up.
I think if he’s out for no more than a month we have a shot at staying afloat. More than that and it’s gonna be tough.

Guess we’ll see what the new recruits show us in Memphis. Opens the door for DLO and AD! Git er dun guys!

There’s no way he’d let it be less, same thing with Kobe.
DJ2KB24 says
That’s true!

The previous roster had made it impossible to limit LeBron’s minutes and that’s the price you pay for a roster lacking dept.
Buba says
I like your take about young players getting injured too. That’s something to debate. Good point, DJ.
