I try not count another man’s money (how da hell do I know how much is enough?) but I’m not even sure it’s about the money at this point; it’s about what it represents. I can’t think of a guy playing at his level who has ever taken a pay cut like that. And him being a union man I don’t see him setting that precedent…and why should he?
He ain’t taking less. Dude wants to own a team, and while he’s a billionaire, he’s not even in Mike’s league yet. Forget about the Bezos/Ellison/Musk types who’d drop 11 figures for a team in Vegas. If he wants to own a team, he’s gonna need to stack as many chips as possible. May not even let Rich keep the commission off his next deal.
Lol…he’s not gonna be the sole owner of a team; this ain’t MJ buying the Bobcats for $275mill..whole different stratosphere now. He’ll start out as a minority partner but the face of the franchise. Think Magic and the Guggenheims.
