Thanks for the great breakdown of mechanics behind Kuz’s improved 3-point shooting in the bubble, Raj.
I would add his improved shot selection and focus on more spot-up and catch-and-shoot threes versus tougher off-the-dribble threes has also been a factor in his growth.
What really impressed me about Kuzma’s growth is not only about how many points he can score but the variety of ways he is doing it. I mean, he is really getting very good at mixing it up.
Hey, Buba. It’s all about Kuz’s gravity behind the line. His 3-point shooting has forced defenders to challenge his shot which opens the door for Kuz to attack the rim with his drives and floaters. Imagine how tough it would be for Dame or CJ to cover him defensively.
Kuz also showed he is faster, quicker, and longer defensively than Danny, can stay in front of most guards, and can recover and block the shot when beaten. He did a great job on Harden and on Murray after Jamal torched Green so bad that Vogel pulled him in favor of Kuz.
Kuzma at shooting guard could be a huge weapon for Lakers against the Blazers.
