I’ve long thought the Lakers could look to steal a free agent guard like Fred VanVleet with a proposed sign-and-trade deal this offseason. Only winning team with cap space to pursue Fred is the Miami Heat. Toronto may not want to pay $15 to $20 million to keep Fred with their need to pay other players.
