Anyone who watched this game will understand why I have been more interested in trading for players that can defend, than more offense. We have no trouble scoring. We need to improve our defense. You win in the playoffs with defense not offense.
I thought they played pretty good, those Pesky Pels, I mean to say.
I don’t understand why Bev and Schroeder would be assigned to defend Ingram, a player with length who can be very deadly from midrange. Lebron looked gassed in the third quarter and that’s when I started sensing a loss. AD did the best he could but wasn’t enough. It all came down to defense which wasn’t very good. All the Pels had to do was stay within a striking distance and go for the kill. Which is exactly what they did.

You are right, DJ. Our poor record has to do with us losing a bunch of close games. Man, I miss our defensive-minded roster from the Bubble.
PatBev is scrappy but he should be defending guards. Sometimes he has early success but as the game goes on these elite players figure him out. Would have rather Sean Troy brown in the line up. Put Rui on BI. BI scored 35. He would not have done worse than that. Rui got 19 minutes. 8 points and 5 boards. We traded for length. Use it.

I was thinking the same about putting Hachimura against Ingram when he started getting hot. I thought that would have been a much wiser decision, at least size-wise. We play them again next week. Let’s see if we can make the necessary adjustment. We ended up 2-3 on the road trip instead of above .500.
