Lakers either need to sign DLO to new contract or sign-and-trade him. Cannot allow him to walk for nothing like Caruso.
I agree. But I wonder if DLO would want too if he is offered similar money, knowing that he is a trade asset for however long he is a Laker.
The market will tell him. I still say the Lakers should promise him a new 2-year sign-and-trade at $21M per year if he’ll opt into his players option for this year.
Frankly, Lakers need to keep both DLO and AR (move AR to bench) and use the 2029 and 2031 picks to add new 3&D guard and 3&D wing upgraded starters with size who really defend.
Use the picks for them and use #17 for a backup center like Filipowski or Ware.
