Imagine what he could do if Vogel played him at the 5 for 40 minutes per game? Or even 30 minutes per game. Same with Kuzma. Frank still only playing him 25 minutes per game.
If he doesn’t want to start AD or Kuz, how about playing AD at the five for two thirds or 24 of the 34 minutes he’s playing instead of just 15 minutes and take away 4 to 5 minutes each from McGee and Howard?
And giving Kuzma 30 minutes per game instead of just 25 and and cutting Green from 23 to 18 mintes per game? Those are adjustments that would make the Lakers a much better and more dangerous team. It would also give minutes to those players who deserve it.
It probably won’t matter against the Blazers but the Lakers are going to need more AD at the five and more minutes from Kuzma as we advance in the playoffs if we’re going to win the championship. The answer down the stretch is not going to be JaVale McGee and Danny Green. It’s going to be Anthony Davis at the five and more Kyle Kuzma.
