I like what I am seeing so far.

This is what I believe would be the ideal trade for the Lakers. They already have a top-5 offense and this trade would also give them a top-5 defense.

Smart is a better fit as POA defender than Reddish or Vanderbilt because he’s a superior defender and 3-point shooter and proven starter quality point guard. He may not be as good an offensive player as DLO but he’s dramatically better offensively than either Cam or Vando.

Williams is a former All-defensive center who can both protect the rim and defend on the perimeter. Combined with AD, he would give the Lakers the best defensive front court in the league. Lakers would become a juggernaut with this trade.

Lakers need consolidation trade so they can give Olivari and Koloko standard contracts. Both are great prospects to develop.

This is for Gerald, Jamie, and the rest of the old school, anti-three ball late-to-the-dance Lakerholics who did not support Anthony Davis shooting threes. Four straight games hitting two threes and now shooting over 40% from deep. Three ball makes AD even more dangerous. Those last two clutch threes were game winners.

Time to give JJ Redick credit for not only finally making AD the focus of the Lakers offense but also for getting him to return to shooting threes as a major clutch part of his game. JJ Redick transforming the Lakers into a championship contender. Give JJ and AD the flowers they deserve and stop criticizing JJ and AD for modernizing the Lakers offense, which is now the #5 offense in the entire NBA and, over last 4 games, #1 ranked offense in the NBA.
