Aloha,
so Lebron would be willing to take a pay cut for Klay Thompson. At the full MLE, Klay is probably worth it, if he can still defend at a reasonable level. But is he really the answer? We have good 3 point shooting and under JJ they will get more looks from 3. lebron is one of the grearest ever to play but as a GM he has been terrible. There is a long list of failed aquistions that Lebron pushed for. anyone remember Westbrook? if he were smart he would realize that splitting the MLE amomg a couple of solid role players would be more benieficial than signing one aging former star. i wont be mad if it happens, I just think we could do better than adding Klay.

It’s not like James Harden, Klay Thompson, and Jonas Valanciunas are the right list. Frankly, it’s who we’re likely to get in trade of the picks that will be more important. LeBron has flipped the pressure totally on Pelinka though and that’s good because Rob needs to be pushed to go all in. Now he has little choice. Make the right smart moves that will fill the holes not just names.

Just putting on my conspiracy hat for a second. I think Jeannie & Rob had a chance to wrestle a lil bit of power & control back from Lebron with the Hurley hire. That was clearly a move geared toward the future with Lebron having no influence on the decision. When it fell through, it gave even MORE power to Lebron. Now he’s got his son here (not sure Hurley woulda signed off on that), his coach/puppet JayJay, and now he’s dangling this paycut thing to control free agency. Come at the King you best not miss……(Omar Little).
