He’s had some unfortunate injuries this year and it’s led some in the media to call him inconsistent. But he’s been pretty steady when healthy..especially after getting rid of that mask. He’s one of the few guys we have who plays with energy on both ends night in & night out. Hate to see him get tossed into a trade as some kinda salary filler.

In a season full of mysteries, Rui is the most baffling. He plays both side of the ball. Leads the team in plus minus+68 and averages 11ppg in 23 minutes. Prince starts at forward. He has the worst plus minus at -166. Averages 9ppg in 30 minutes. Rui had his worst shooting game in the last 5 against the Hawks. He was only 7-11 and 2-4 from 3. 16 points, 2 steals and 4 boards in 23 minutes. I just don’t get it. He is our only PF after LeBron. I’m hoping they keep him.

I have felt that Rui would take over the minutes and the forward position when LeBron retires. A few years of watching and learning under LeBron may not make him a sure thing All-Star but the benefit of having a player that can hold his own, and I truly believe he is getting better and gaining confidence with more playing time. Face it, anytime a player is on the court with LeBron, they are being scrutinized by the coach (even that Lame Pig, Darvin Ham) and LeBron….That is why I have felt he is more valuable than as salary filler in all the proposed trades that are being tossed about so freely. Those possible trade scenarios take up more space than true evaluations of reality. It’s all a game to get readership. Keep the team intact, dump Darvin Ham….Lakers will struggle to make playoffs irregardless of whether Ham stays or goes.
