Aloha,
The Hawks just traded John Collins to the Jazz for Rudy Gay and a 2nd round pick. A clear salary dump, probably due to the new CBA. This is why I believe the Lakers will keep Beasley and Bamba. That’s 27 mil in expiring contracts. And while Beasley flamed out with us, over all he has been solid and should have some trade value. The new CBA will change the way teams view roster building.

In the podcast I did with LT I brought this exact scenario up. There will now be a legitimate way to acquire prime talent simply by having cap space and decent picks to send out. Utah looking to cut the “rebuild” short and vault back into contention in one short season. Honestly, had it not been for Wemby, they might have knocked on the playin door more seriously. San Antonio will be the other team along with maybe OKC to watch regarding this tactic. Instant flexibility will be very useful for the next 7 years, mark my words.

Utah was unexpectedly good last season and that moved their timeline up quite a bit. Lotta options with all those picks. Friggin Ainge.
