Aloha,
DLO has had a terrible series. If he had even so so games we might be still in this thing. I don’t know what has happened to his confidence but it isn’t there.
But the flip side is, we would not have made it this far without him. He averaged 17 and 6 assists in 30 minutes and shot 41% from 3 after the trade. We would not have even made the play in without him.
While he was somewhat inconsistent in the two previous series, he was instrumental in 7 of the 8 wins. We only won one without a good game from him. So yes, he has been terrible in this series but without his contributions we wouldn’t even be here.

It was shown earlier that over his career he was one of the worst playoff shooters in the history of the game. He was a lil bit better than that these past few weeks but he’s simply not a great post-season performer. Some guys rise up this time of year and some shrink. Gotta consider that before giving him $30mill a year.

He won’t get 30mil. He signed that last contract after he made the all star team. I’m thinking 20 to 25 maybe. Our problem is LeBron and AD total 92 mil of our cap. If we want to keep guys like Austin and Rui, there will not be much room to find anyone better. Now Beasley, Bamba and Harrison combine for close to 30 mil in trade assets that we could attach first rounders to but who is even on the market? Sign and trade DLO and we are hard capped and again who do we get. I’m thinking he will be back at least to start the season next year.

I fear the same thing…we’re most likely stuck with him. Which is fine for the regular season but as I always say..the playoffs is a different beast. Everyone ain’t built for it.

I don’t think we have much of a choice but I’m also not ownership which has shown a proclivity to cheap out. How they view this run will be shown in whom they retain and at what cost.
