Saw a report today that besides Boogey the Lakers are also working out Myers’s Leonard. WTF? I have watched several G league games this year. And Jay Huff of the South Bay Lakers has impressed each time. He blocked 6 shots Las night. His season high is 7. He once blocked 10 for U Virginia. He also shoots the 3. I would like to give him a shot over a guy like Myers’s.
There’s no one out there who will make a difference. It’s just 10- day season.
Michael, I am glad you brought up Jay Huff. I am a big fan of his but I have no clue why the Lakers are not giving him a chance. He is too good for the G-League, and as you said, he can shoot the 3. He also rebounds well and can block shots. Honestly, I get upset not seeing him get a chance. Could there be something else that they know that we are not aware of? And how long can he be in the G-League before somebody snatches him away?
When rosters expand they’ll bring up a couple g leaguers, this is 10 day tryout season and since there’s no guarantee AD won’t have another stress reaction (seeing as it’s caused by running and jumping which Tom so eloquently poo-pooed a week ago) this is my guess as to why we’re auditioning centers. It’ could be, but is highly unlikely, to be a part of some epic trade. They know AD could go the rest of the season or part of a quarter. No way to know. If it does flare up again that should be surgery time.
